Francesco Totti getting revenge on lad who tried to embarrass him will always be brilliant

It’s hard to imagine that we’ll see too many players like Francesco Totti again in football.

Born in the Italian capital, Totti joined AS Roma’s youth ranks at the age of 13 before making his professional debut just three years later.

The legendary attacking midfielder then went on to spend his entire 25-year professional career with the Giallorossi.

One of football’s ultimate one-club men, Totti played 786 games for Roma, scoring 307 goals.

He won one Serie A title, two Coppas Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana titles during that time, while he also lifted the World Cup with Italy in 2006.

Totti brought the curtain down on his incredible career in 2017, aged 40, and no longer works in football.

He was initially employed a director at Roma after hanging upon his boots but stepped down in June 2019 after his relationship with club president James Pallotta deteriorated.

“I resign as a Roma executive,” the Italian said in a press conference at the time, per BBC Sport. “I was hoping that this day never came, instead this ugly and heavy day has arrived.

“I never had the chance to work on the technical area with Roma.”

He added: “This is far worse than retiring as a player. Leaving Roma is like dying. I feel like it’d be better if I died.”

Despite the sad end to his association with Roma, Totti doesn’t appear to have lost his love for the beautiful game.

There are reports that he still plays the odd game of eight-a-side and futsal in Rome.

Which brings us nicely to the time Totti got revenge on one youngster who tried to embarrass him on the futsal court.
