Fran Kirby, Keira Walsh: England stars leave fans in tears with emotional video

England’s Fran Kirby, Keira Walsh and Millie Bright have left fans in tears with an emotional video about women in football.

The trio were given letters by girls and women inspired by the Lionesses victory at Euro 2022.

This included a letter from a 60-year-old woman who was unable to play football when she was younger, and a girl who joined a football team after watching the Lionesses on TV.

Kirby, Walsh and Bright read the letters out to the camera, with the emotional words leaving many viewers in tears.

With the video released early this morning, many viewers were surprised to find themselves crying at 9am.

“I didn’t expect to be crying at 9am but here we are,” wrote one Twitter user, while another posted: “Crying and it’s not even 10am”. A third viewer wrote: “Lionesses really got me crying at 9:30am on a Tuesday”.

Someone even questioned how the players had not broken down while recording the video, commenting: “How are the players not crying?????!!!!!”

Others praised the Lionesses for inspiring the next generation of female football players.

“Inspirational players and inspirational women to young and old across the nation,” a Twitter user wrote. “You’ve set the standard and the future generations coming through will raise that standard higher, no doubt about it.”

“Love this,” posted someone else. “What a bunch of incredible role models”.

Let's make girls playing football the norm.
