Fran Alonso 'exits Celtic' as Houston Dash land top target and boss heads Stateside

Fran Alonso has reportedly agreed to leave Celtic Women after two years in the hotseat as he gets set to be unveiled by Houston Dash.

Alonso took Celtic within minutes of their first SWPL title last term before they were pipped by Glasgow City in the closing stages of a whirlwind race for the flag. But despite just missing out on the championship, he delivered the Scottish Cup with a Hampden win over Rangers. The Hoops are currently locked in another title battle with their city rivals - but Alonso is off to the Lone Star State for his new adventure.

The Spaniard was also linked with a move to Mexican side Monterrey. Alonso was the man Las Rayadas want to take charge after their boss Eva Espejo moved from the dugout to the boardroom with a bigger budget on offer at the club.
