Four Premier League names on reported 11-man Newcastle summer transfer longlist

Newcastle United reportedly have at least 11 outfield players in their sights this summer as they prepare to completely revamp Eddie Howe’s squad.

The St James’ Park outfit added four players in the January window, with Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes and Matt Targett all arriving to bolster the club’s hopes of pulling away from the relegation places.

That aim has almost been achieved, with Howe’s men currently nine points off the drop zone. They have lost their last two league games, however, and are already planning for next term.

North east reporter for Daily Mail Craig Hope states that his sources have told him 10 outfield players are on the club’s list of targets.

There are four Premier League names, including the likes of Yves Bissouma, Kalvin Phillips, Ben Johnson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the list. Other big names include Alexander Isak, Darwin Nunez and Moussa Diaby.

Meanwhile, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano states that Newcastle also want Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey.

A fee in the region of £15m-£20million is expected to be enough to land the highly-touted Scottish teenager.

Recent reports have, however, suggested that the club’s Saudi-backed ownership will show some restraint in the upcoming window. Indeed, the budget could be even less then the £90m they spent in January.
