Four new arrests in Talbot Green shooting case as police probe 'mistaken identity' theory
Police probing the death of a woman who was shot dead have said they are investigating the possibility she was killed in a case of mistaken identity as they confirmed four more people had been arrested. Joanne Penney, 40, was found with serious injuries and pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting in Talbot Green, Rhondda Cynon Taf, shortly after 6pm on Sunday night. A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

A police spokesperson said: "South Wales Police is continuing to investigate the murder of Joanne Penney following a shooting in Talbot Green on Sunday evening. Police were called to an address at Llys Illtyd at 6.10pm on Sunday, March 9, where Joanne was found seriously injured having been shot to the chest.
"Despite the best efforts of emergency services, she died at the scene. Our thoughts are with Joanne’s family and friends at this time, and we will do everything we can to support them. A 42-year-old local man who was arrested on Sunday night, March 9, remains in police custody.
"Last night, Monday March 10, four more people were arrested in the Leicestershire Police force area in connection to the incident – a 21-year-old woman from Oadby, Leicestershire; a 27-year-old man from Oadby, Leicestershire; a 68-year-old man from Braunstone Town, Leicestershire and a 39-year-old woman from Leicester. They are currently in custody and will be questioned.
"The 42-year-old man from Talbot Green who was arrested remains in police custody. Crime scenes remain in place as work continues to gather evidence following the shooting and
