Former Watford and Motherwell defender being 'looked at' by Albion Rovers

Albion Rovers are looking at defender Tom Leighton after his departure from League One club Alloa Athletic.

The versatile full-back failed to make a single appearance before departing the Wasps.

Previously he was with Cove Rangers and East Kilbride, following a big move south to English club Watford following promise at Motherwell.

Reid has been keen to add a defender and a striker to his squad, with funds available to him if he spotted something extra which could enhance his squad.

He added: “We are looking at him just now.

"We are short defenders and we are looking at players to bring in to the club.

"It’s just a case of whether we can get them or not.”

Albion Rovers were sidelined yesterday after their League Two game away to Stirling Albion was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Forthbank.
