Former Plymouth Argyle manager Mick Jones has passed away aged 75

Mick Jones, the former Plymouth Argyle assistant manager to Neil Warnock who later became the Pilgrims' boss, has passed away at the age of 75.

Warnock posted a tweet on his Twitter page this afternoon to report on his that his long-time trusted No 2 had died.

Jones had been the assistant to Warnock at Notts County and Huddersfield Town before following him to Home Park in the summer of 1995.

Warnock told Plymouth Live this afternoon: "We managed to have some good laughs in the last few weeks, talking about old memories. We have had some good times together.

"Over the last week I was up with him and we went through a few of the stories. I knew that he hadn't got long left unfortunately."

Plymouth Live's Argyle reporter Chris Errington also paid tribute to Jones. "When I first started covering the club full-time in 1997 Mick was the manager.
