Former Manchester United favourite suffers injury heartbreak as messages pour in

Manchester United have wished Javier Hernandez well in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) suffered while playing for LA Galaxy.

The 35-year-old former United striker picked up the injury playing against Real Salt Lake in the US Open Cup quarter-final. He is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and will undergo surgery.

Hernández will undergo surgery on a date to be determined to begin the rehabilitation process."

During his time at United, Hernandez won the Premier League again in 2013 and scored 59 goals in 157 games for the club. He had a loan spell at Real Madrid in 2014 after Louis van Gaal's arrival at United and was sold to German
