Former Bok Hougaard signs short-term deal with Sharks
Former Springbok scrumhalf Francois Hougaard is set to join the Sharks ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Hougaard will join the Durban-based franchise on a short-term deal, it was announced on Sunday.
The 35-year-old, who played 46 Tests between 2009 and 2017, is a versatile player who can also slot in at wing.
The Sharks have two scrumhalves - Jaden Hendrikse and Grant Williams - away with the Springboks during the Rugby World Cup. Hougaard's presence will therefore help fill that void.

Hougaard started his professional career at Western Province in 2007, but made a name for himself as a Super Rugby winner with the Bulls between 2008 and 2015.
He played for English club Worcester Warriors between 2016 and 2021, before playing for Wasps in 2021-22.
His most recent action was at Saracens earlier this year.
The Sharks open their URC campaign away to defending champions Munster on Saturday, October 21.
