'Forgotten' cleaning task everybody should do once a week to avoid grease

For those with hectic lives, cleaning may often fall by the wayside, leading to certain chores being ignored for extended periods. But one cleaning sensation has pointed out a chore that's crucial to carry out weekly to make your life less complicated.

The cleaning influencer Kaye Marie, who boasts over 431,000 followers on TikTok for her straightforward cleaning tips, has highlighted the necessity of cleaning hairbrushes routinely to prevent oily hair. She confessed it was once overlooked in her routine, but now stresses its importance for keeping brushes clean of strands, grime, and germs.

For the best maintenance, she suggests a weekly brush wash, and thankfully, it's a simple task using everyday household items, reports the Daily Record. Her advice is straight to the point: "If your hair is feeling a lot greasier than usual and you're needing to wash it more, it's probably because your hairbrush is dirty and you need to clean it."

When the timer goes off, Kaye showed her audience the grimy water, remarking: "Look at the absolute state of that water. By this point, your brushes should be fairly clean, if you've done a good job with the tail comb."

Should there remain any stubborn remnants of hair or dirt, Kaye suggests employing an old toothbrush to give them a thorough scrub, followed by a water rinse and drying prior to their next use on your locks.
