Everton are having a nightmare season, as injury problems and poor performances have led the side into a relegation battle in the Premier League.

They are currently 17th and only safe from the drop zone by goal difference, with Frank Lampard left with no room for error going forward into the remaining months of the season.

With 12 games left to go, the Toffees have the opportunity to pick up 36 points in their pursuit for safety in the league table and at this point of the season they must try to snatch as many as they can so that they don’t find themselves relying on relegation competitors results to save them from their first drop out of top flight football in 70 years.

Although there is still a healthy chance for Everton to stay up in the Premier League next season, it may be too little too late for some of the players and they could be tempted away from the club following a season of doubt and disappointment, with the potential for particular players to secure a more comfortable future for their careers elsewhere.
