For The Love Of Golf shops for $300,000 to help cancer children

Determined to reduce the financial burden on parents whose children are suffering from cancer, For The Love Of Golf, a charity organisation with Ikeja Golf Club, is shopping for $300,000 to purchase an Aphoresis machine, Arterial blood gas analyser and flow cytometers for surgical operations.

Since 2020, For The Love Of Golf has been in the forefront of raising funds for helpless pediatric cancer patients. At the end of its annual charity tournament since 2020, the organisation usually donates proceeds from the event to paediatric cancer ward of Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) as well as children in Orphanage homes in Lagos.

Now, the body is looking forward to the 2023 edition of tournament on December 16, and the Founder of For The Love Of Golf, Dr. Florence Adesola Falaiye, says their target is to make it bigger.

“As we strive forward, we will mark this year by bigger steps, expanding our reach to other southwest zones like the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

“We are establishing critical relationship with medical institutions and seeking to purchase an Aphoresis machine Arterial blood gas analyzer, and flow cytometers for surgical operations, a vital investment with a price tag of approximately $300,000,” she stated.

The Coordinator of For The Love Of Golf, Ejiro Ogomigo, stated that one of the aims of the body is to address accountability, saying: “We don’t give money to any establishment. We identify the problem and look for a way to address it. Our ultimate goal is to have a centre, where children suffering from cancer will be treated. We need the cooperation of Nigerians, particularly golf players and the corporate organisations to make this dream come true.”
