Rita Ekwere is better known under her stage name of Ray BLK. She is a British singer and songwriter who was born in Nigeria, growing up in Catford in London. The 29-year-old became the first unsigned artist to win the BBC's Sound of 2017.
While bringing a fresh sound to the rock classic, Ray BLK still keeps true to the song's roots, using her range of vocals to build from a softer introduction to a powerful dramatic middle and ending.
I would Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) is a song written by Jim Steinman, and recorded by American rock singer Meat Loaf, featuring Lorraine Crosby. The song was released in August 1993 and was a massive success, reaching number one in 28 countries.
The last six verses feature Crosby, who was credited only as "Mrs. Loud" in the album notes. She does not appear in the music video, with her vocals are lip-synched by Dana Patrick.
The M&S advert will get its TV premiere on Wednesday night on ITV during the ads of drama
