Football Meets Football: Harry Kane and his NFL dream
Harry Kane is perhaps one of the most famous English footballers at the moment, but it seems he wants to try and make it in America by playing an entirely different sport: American Football.
Anyone that has been following the NFL UK social pages in the lead up to Super Bowl LVI may have noticed that he has been rather active with them as he has provided his picks for the playoff and run to the Championship.
Indeed, the current Tottenham Hotspur player also left Tom Brady a message on Instagram that the GOAT replied to, with the English striker clearly having a keen interest in the sport. It is perhaps handy that there are a number of NFL games that are played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium each season, thus allowing him to get up close and personal.
Although it is far from a new story, the fact that Kane wishes to be an NFL kicker once he has retired from football is an interesting one.
Having revealed in 2019 to ESPN, he continues to reiterate the desire to be able to achieve this rather lofty aim.
“Of course, there’s a lot of technically very gifted players and in NFL kicking, a lot of players can kick it far and high, but I guess it all comes down to who can handle the pressure the best and I feel like the more I watch it, the more I see that, you know, in the big situations,” he told Houston Texans DE J. J. Watt for NFL UK.
“A lot of times the game goes down to a last minute field goal, last second field goal. So I’d like to think kind my experience of dealing with that in soccer would put me maybe at an advantage compared to some of the other guys who haven’t had that experience, maybe coming out of college or things like that.
“So I guess that’s the I’m banking on, of course. But yeah, like I said, it’s early
