Football Manager 2023: Is the game coming to PlayStation 5?

Football Manager 2023 is likely to be released later this year, but will the massively popular football management sim be coming to Playstation 5?

The game follows an annual release schedule and has released under its current guise in every year since 2005.

As a result, we’re expecting FM23 to be announced soon and, potentially, be released before the end of the year.

Last year’s game, FM22, hit a variety of systems and did not just release on PC and Mac, but there are questions over this year’s instalment and whether it will release on PlayStation.

We’ve got all the information you need.

The release date has yet to be confirmed but it’s likely that Football Manager 2023 will follow on from Football Manager 2022 by skipping Sony’s flagship console.

Previous editions have been available to play on Xbox, including FM22, and the game was also available for download from Xbox Game Pass.

Miles Jacobson, the head of Sports Interactive, has previously revealed that Xbox have continually asked SI to develop a version of FM for Xbox, while Sony did nothing of the sort.

That tweet came out in September of 2020, around the time that FM21 was announced, and it is likely to mean that there is no option to play FM23 on PS5.

It would require an incredible amount of work from SI to optimise the game for Sony’s console, whereas there is groundwork that has already been laid for the Microsoft system.

As a result, it feels very unlikely that we will get a PlayStation version of FM; it is something that has never existed before; the game’s console of choice has forever been Xbox.

The Xbox edition was cheaper than the PC version of the game when it released last year and that is likely to continue this year.

We haven’t yet got an official
