Wexford to appoint John Hegarty as new football manager
Wexford GAA have proposed John Hegarty as their new senior football manager.
Hegarty's name goes forward for ratification at the county committee meeting on 20 September 2022.
The former Wexford full-forward’s backroom team will be finalised in advance and announced at this meeting also.
A native of Kilanerin and now living in Wexford town, Hegarty played 105 times for the county during his inter-county career spanning from 1995 to 2006.
He scored 21-125 in the process.
He won six Wexford SFC titles with Kilanerin, as well as an intermediate title, and a Railway Cup with Leinster and a Sigerson Cup with UCD.
As manager, he has won Senior Football Championships with Kilanerin (player/manager) and Shelmaliers.
