Football Manager 2023: How to use the in-game editor

Football Manager 2023 is set to come out later this year.

While the game has not yet been officially announced, it is almost certain that the annual release schedule will again be followed this year.

That means the game is likely to release in September, with the beta coming two weeks before.

One feature that will also come with the game, that can be bought for around £5, will be the in-game editor.

This is not to be confused with the pre-game editor, which allows you to edit FM when you’re not in the game. As a result, you can tweak budgets and move players to different clubs and even set up different leagues before you actually launch the game.

The in-game editor, though, offers you the chance to make changes on the fly within Football Manager.

For example, you can click on a player, such as Erling Haaland, and change their attributes within the game, or scrub away an injury. You can also extend their contract without going into negotiations, and potentially even add injuries to the opposition team.

In addition, you can go to the transfers page and beef up your transfer budget, or give yourself a heftier wage budget to play with.

It’s cheating, really, but Sports Interactive give you the opportunity to do it, so why not take advantage?

It should also be said here that you don’t need to use the FM23 in-game editor in every save you begin after installing it.

There will be an option at the start of the game to ‘prevent use of the in-game editor’. Clicking this will merely remove the pencil, although it will still be accessible in other saves.
