Football Manager 2022: Game passes 1 million copies sold
Miles Jacobson of Sports Interactive has confirmed that Football Manager 2022 has now sold one million copies on PC/Mac.
The hugely detailed management sim releases every single year, and has done since 2005, when Eidos and Sports Interactive split; the latter retained the source code to Championship Manager, and used it to create the Football Manager series.
And it appears that FM 22 has been one of the most successful releases in the history of the series.
Jacobson took to Twitter on Sunday evening to announce the milestone, and expressed his gratitude towards those who have bought the game.
He wrote: “In the last 12 hours we sold our millionth copy of FM22 on PC/Mac. In these difficult times, especially with the cost of living crisis, this is not something we take for granted. So thank you to all of you who have bought the game -or played via GamePass or other platforms x.”
This is all the more impressive when one considers that the club football season has actually finished, with the curtain coming down on the likes of the Premier League, Serie A and La Liga.
Nevertheless, it appears players are still desperate to guide their clubs to success, or embark on one of those saves when you begin unemployed and try to climb the ladder to success.

FM22 did not really bring any truly groundbreaking features with it when it released, but it did add a very snazzy new data hub, a couple of new positions – including the wide centre-back – and a staff meeting system with almost 4,000 dialogue options.
