An Achilles heel continued to frustrate Folkestone as they were pegged back on Saturday.
Invicta ended a three-game losing Isthmian Premier run against fellow mid-table team Potters Bar with a 1-1 draw.
Midfielder Jack Jebb gave Andy Drury’s team a 17th-minute lead in front of a crowd of 937 at Cheriton Road, only for the visitors to equalise through defender Joe Payne three minutes later.
Manager Drury said: “It’s frustrating. We have done that a few times this year.
“With the experience we have got, we should manage the game a bit better after we score. There was a bit of a deflection with their goal, as well.
“On another day, we could have won 2-1 or 3-1 because we had enough chances and, looking back, we could have had a penalty.
“I thought we were the better team on Saturday. We just couldn’t get that second goal, but we didn’t lose, so we ended that run.
“We just need to kick on now.”
It was former Arsenal, Dartford, Welling and Dorking player Jebb’s third goal in five appearances - having not previously found the net this term.
“He could have had another one on Saturday, as well, where one of his shots grazed the crossbar,” said Drury.
“He has got three now and, as a centre midfielder, you should be getting six or seven in a season.
“Hopefully, he can chip in with a few more before the end of this season.”
Drury thinks struggles to get consistency within his new-look squad have proved costly this campaign, dating back to last summer when popular ex-Maidstone winger Joan Luque joined, only to retire and return home to Spain in surprise circumstances soon after.
