Floyd Mayweather’s tenth round TKO win over Conor McGregor in August 26, 2017 saw ‘Money’ defeat ‘Notorious’ in his final professional bout.

McGregor, who was the boxing debutant coming into the contest, was thought by millions of people to have a genuine chance of beating a boxing master in Mayweather.

However, it would be the master who would defeat his opponent in dominant fashion in the end.

Despite losing the first three rounds of the fight, it looked like Mayweather was in no real danger on this particular fight night.

Since Mayweather forgoes the opportunity to watch film on his opponents before fighting them, McGregor’s odd southpaw stance and unorthodox punching angles would’ve been something new for Mayweather to process.

He used the opening three rounds to measure the skills that McGregor had inside the ring, meaning that he was confident of dominating him over a longer period of time.

It’s quite possible that Mayweather wanted to entertain and put on a show for those in attendance and watching at home, promising that he would knockout his Irish counterpart.
