Five people arrested after double 'stabbing' leaves two young men injured

Police have made five arrests after two young men were injured in what residents have described as a stabbing incident.

Both 'males' are said by police to have 'presented themselves with injuries' at Wythenshawe Hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the injuries they sustained, believed to be knife wounds, were thankfully not thought to be life-threatening.

Another neighbour said they believed a fight had broken out, but said they didn't know any further details. "We woke up and there was about nine police cars outside," the neighbour added.

GMP confirmed five arrests have been made. No ages for those being held have been revealed. All five were arrested on suspicion of assault and remained in police custody for questioning on Sunday afternoon.

In a statement, GMP said: "In the early hours of this morning, at around 3am, we were made aware of an incident that had taken place in Stockport after two males presented themselves with injuries at Wythenshawe Hospital in south Manchester.
