Five men police want to identify following Piccadilly Gardens disorder

Images of men police want to identify following violent scenes in Piccadilly Gardens at the weekend have been released. Investigations have been ongoing into various outbreaks of disorder during a large-scale protest across the city centre last Saturday (August 3).

Hundreds of people descended on Piccadilly Gardens for a demonstration entitled 'Stand Up For Your Country: Enough is Enough', as a counter rally was also attended by 350 earlier in the day.

There were tense scenes as the two groups were kept apart by rows of police officers. A large number of officers could be seen attempting to keep order and dispersing people from the area.

Now, images of five men police want to identify have been released by Greater Manchester Police. Anyone who recognises them is urged to contact the force or submit information via their online portal.

A force spokesperson said: "We are investigating an outbreak of disorder which took place at Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester city centre on Saturday 3 August 2024 and are seeking to identify the following persons as part of our investigation.

"If you recognise the people pictured, please get in touch with police through the MIPP portal Public Portal (mipp.police.uk)

"Alternatively, contact us on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting Operation Spindle."
