Five Manchester United stars face fight for future ahead of pivotal period

Manchester United return to pre-season training next month ahead of the new campaign.

Matheus Cunha will be the headline act as the Reds ramp up preparations for the 2025-26 season. Ruben Amorim's side will hope to improve on their dismal domestic showing last term and travel to America for a summer tour as well as playing in Sweden and at Old Trafford.

United's players will report to Carrington following their summer break in the week commencing July 7. And several stars face make or break periods during the next few weeks.

The arrival of Cunha and expected signing of Bryan Mbuemo mean that the attacking ranks will be bolstered while Amorim is keen to add a central striker.

It means Rasmus Hojlund, who struggled in front of goal last season, is under pressure. The Dane faces losing his place in the side next term if a new striker arrives and he has been linked with an Old Trafford exit.

United splashed an initial £72million on the frontman and haven't had a return on their investment.
