Five children and a woman has been rushed to hospital after being shot in Sheffield. Police were called to Richmond Park Avenue on Wednesday (August 14) to reports of the shooting at around 2.23pm.

Police said 'unknown individuals' began firing an air rifle on the street before four boys, aged seven, 11, 13 and 15, a seven-year-old girl and a woman, 62, were injured and left with gunshot wounds.

Three of the children were rushed to hospital to have a pellet removed from their bodies. The area was taped off and a major investigation was launched by South Yorkshire Police.
