Firefighters tackle huge blaze at house for five and a half hours

Firefighters spent five and a half hours tackling a huge blaze at a house in the early hours of the morning. Three fire engines were called to reports of the fire at a semi-detached property on Wordsworth Road in Denton just before midnight on Saturday (April 27).

Images taken at around 1am this morning (April 28) show flames and smoke rising from the house in the Hauton Green area. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said it used a nine metre ladder and two hose reels to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.

Several police vehicles were also pictured at the scene alongside an ambulance. According to GMP, one person was evacuated from the property.
