Finn Harps confirmed Darren Murphy will stay on for rest of 2023
Finn Harps have confirmed that interim manager Darren Murphy will continue in his role until the end of the season.
Murphy took the reins after Dave Rogers stepped away over the weekend, with the former Shelbourne and St Patrick's Athletic manager citing family and personal reasons.
"Darren Murphy will continue as interim manager of Finn Harps for the remaining games in the 2023 season, starting with Kerry FC at home on Friday night," the club said in a statement.
"Finn Harps Head of Academy Kevin McHugh and Former Harps U19 Manager Tommy Canning, most recently of Dergview FC, have joined the backroom team for the remainder of the campaign.
"The board of the club will conduct a review in the coming weeks to put in place a process to appoint a management team for the 2024 season and beyond."
Rogers took over last December after Harps' relegation from the Premier Division but the expectation that they would challenge for a promotion play-off play never materialised.
The club are currently ninth in the SSE Airtricity Men's First Division table, 16 points off Athlone Town, who occupy the final play-off spot.
