Feyenoord fans slam 'tame' Celtic Park atmosphere on night of 'chaos' and home end takeover

Some Feyenoord fans have hit out at the Celtic Park atmosphere as a supporters group shared their experience of Champions League matchday six.

The travelling supporters from the Netherlands who infiltrated the home end were left disappointed alongside the diehards in the traditional away section. Brendan Rodgers' side registered their first win a Europe's top table in 15 attempts thanks to goals from Luis Palma and Gustaf Lagerbielke in a 2-1 success. It was a dead-rubber in terms of progression - with both sides confirmed in fourth and third respectively before kick-off - but it was still a night to savour for most of those in attendance.

Tell that to some Dutch fans who thought very little of Celtic's famed home atmosphere in Europe. Feyenoord fan group FR12 - who are followed by 67k on X- shared a lengthy story of the night at Parkhead, claiming "At the stadium, the police cause chaos by trying to create small groups between horses. If some of the tickets have a poorly printed QR code, causing the gates to not work, the party is complete. Bad organisation."

Parkhead's atmosphere was also in the firing line alongside the eventual end result. It's claimed: "The "You'll Never Walk Alone" was impressive, but otherwise it is a really tame stadium with an atmosphere like SC Heerenveen."

Some other Feyenoord fans agreed on the atmosphere. One said "Hahah great man, just the Celtic atmosphere wasn't much. Great stadium, they keep their main stand intact that's why it's low etc."

Another said "A bit of a cross between PSV and FC Twente stadiums, so unrelated with poles everywhere and different heights. But big. Then those poles on the 2nd ring and the huge one in the corner."
