Ferreira 'approached' over Celtic transfer as hunt for Jota successor turns to £6m Brazilian

Premiership champions Celtic have made contact with Gremio over their star forward Ferreira.

Football Scotland state the Treble winners have put out feelers for a player who can play left wing among other roles as the hunt for Jota's successor goes on. The report states the Brazilian side would be seeking a fee around £6million for one of their brightest talents. The 25-year-old has earned admiring glances from Europe but has remained in his homeland.

Celtic have also been linked with former Leicester loanee Tete as an option in the final third as Rodgers aims to put his stamp on a side which dominated Scottish football under Ange Postecoglou. And the champions are in Japan for their pre-season tour as the Irishman evaluates his current squad. A deal for South Korean wide man Yang Hyun-yun has already been agreed for £2.1million, but Rodgers seemingly isn't done with his recruitment on the flanks.
