Ferran Torres: Barcelona star in tears at FT after Napoli draw
Barcelona and Napoli served up a Europa League thriller on Thursday evening.
Only two goals were scored, but there was chances and drama aplenty in the 1-1 draw at Camp Nou.
Napoli took the lead in the first half through Piotr Zieliński, the midfielder firing home on the rebound after a great initial save from Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Barcelona had to wait until the 59th-minute to level the scores and it was January signing Ferran Torres who delivered the goods.
The former Manchester City winger stroked the ball home from the penalty spot after a VAR review declared that Juan Jesus handled Adama Traore‘s cross – which was an incredibly harsh decision by the officials.

Torres’ goal was just his second since arriving at Barcelona last month and in truth, it was one of the few positives from what was a fairly disastrous performance against Napoli.
Nothing the Spain international attempted in open play came off and he was guilty of missing some very easy chances, including an absolute sitter in the first half after he was put through on goal by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

On another night, he would have won the game for Barcelona, but it just wasn’t to be for him.
Torres’ struggles against Napoli got the better of him at full-time, the 21-year-old cutting an incredibly emotional figure on the pitch.
He appeared to be in tears and had to be consoled by members of the Barcelona playing staff.

It’s times like that when you remember that footballers are human beings as well. Keep your head up, Ferran.
While his performance was certainly below-par, Torres
