Fergie says she will 'always be there' for Prince Andrew and it is 'sad' what he's gone through

Fergie has said she will “always be there” for her ex-husband Prince Andrew, adding it is 'sad' to see what he has gone through.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, married the late Queen’s second eldest son in 1986 but the couple split up in 1992, although they have remained friends. She made the statement in an intervew where she spoke about being grateful to have “even a minute” of the Queen’s time before her death in September last year.

Speaking to The Telegraph, she branded Andrew the Queen's 'poor son' and said he had been through 'such a tumultuous time'.

“I’ve always admired and adored her. Really, she was more of a mother to me than my mother.”

Sarah said it is “sad” to see what Andrew has been through, when talking about the sexual assault claims against her ex-husband, which led to an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre.

Asked if the Queen was confident she would be there for Andrew after her death, Sarah added: “She knew. I will
