Faversham Town manager Tommy Warrilow fears the worst after Frannie Collin is injured during FA Cup third qualifying round defeat at Ebbsfleet United

Faversham Town fear Frannie Collin has ruptured his Achilles tendon during their FA Cup exit at Ebbsfleet United.

The former Maidstone and Tonbridge man came on with 15 minutes left at Stonebridge Road.

But he lasted only two minutes before going down in agony and was swiftly stretchered off the field.

“Fran went on and snapped his Achilles,” said Warrilow, immediately after the game. “He’s on his way to the hospital now. He walked on literally two minutes earlier.

It looked like the visitors could get blown away by their full-time hosts as Ebbsfleet dominated the early stages and led 2-0 just past the half-hour.

But Faversham got a goal back on the stroke of half-time and ensured a far from smooth passage for a team that ply their trade two divisions higher.

“There's nothing wrong with coming in and saying that they were just knocking it about and I felt the boys were giving a little bit too much respect,” said Warrilow.
