Faversham Town manager Sammy Moore on the loan arrival of forward Jefferson Aibangbee from Sheppey United

Jefferson Aibangbee will offer something different to Faversham’s new-look frontline, according to boss Sammy Moore.

The forward has become the latest player added to the Town squad for their 2023/24 Southern Counties East Premier Division promotion push.

He finished this season in electric form at Whitstable but has agreed to join the Lilywhites on a season-long loan from Isthmian South East Sheppey.

Moore said: “We watched a little bit of him last year and he was a target that we sort of wanted to try and get over the line.

“We knew that he had another year at Sheppey and there were quite a few clubs in for him.

“But we have quite a good relationship with the chairman there, Matt Smith, and director of football Ernie Batten.

“They said ‘Would we be interested?’ and we jumped at the chance.

“He’s an exciting player, scores goals, likes to take defenders on and he’s something different from what we’ve already got.

“He’ll run in behind and create chances for our players that nine times out of 10 will be in the right place at the right time next year.

“So we’re delighted to get it done.

“We’ve got him for the season and we’re really looking forward to seeing how he flourishes and watching him become an even better player.

“Obviously, he had a lot of interest - and rightly so! He was a constant threat last year and, if you look at most of his goals, they all come from his own work.

“We feel, with the players that we’ve signed, that we can make him better as a player.

“He’ll become better from playing with better players.

“We want to win leagues and we want to win cups - and he’s a winner. That’s exactly what he wants.

“He wants to get promoted and win a league, and that’s what has sold it for him.

“He’s a really good lad
