Fausto Vera to Celtic transfer door narrows as midfielder's agent drops major next move clue

In demand Fausto Vera looks set to be swapping Argentinos Juniors for Corinthians this summer amid links with Celtic after his agent was spotted taking in the Brazilian giants clash with Coritiba.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Parkhead as Ange Postecoglou looks to add depth to his midfield, having successfully utilised the Argentinian market this summer after securing 21-year-old left back Alexandro Bernabei. However, Vera appears to have dropped down the transfer wish list this summer with Australian international Aaron Mooy lining up with his former boss at Celtic Park.

Reports in Brazil suggest a move to Corinthians is imminent, despite interest from Europe with both Celtic and Belgian First Division side Gent keen on the Argentina U23 international. TNT Sports state that president of Argentino Juniors Cristian Malaspina is travelling to Brazil for talks with Corinthians having already made a formal offer of €6million for 70 per cent of the economic rights for the midfielder.

The player's agent Marco Vanzini, who represents ICM Stellar Sports, has also offered a clue over the move. He shared a snap to Instagram from the stands during the 3-1 win for the Brazilian Serie A title hopefuls on Wednesday.

The player has left the door open for a move to Europe despite closing in on a deal to remain in South America. He told TYC Sports this week: "I like Europe, also the South American leagues that mean football growth for me and in my life, it would be a beautiful challenge. It's because there are rumours from South America, Europe, I feel prepared to face any challenge."
