Farrell: Dublin threw kitchen sink at Kerry in second-half
Dessie Farrell admits his side's one-point win over Kerry was a 'great battle', their first in The Kingdom since 1982.
Aided by a significant breeze at Austin Stack Park, Dublin substitute Lorcan O'Dell kicked two late two-pointers to help the visitors overturn an 11-point half-time deficit.
"It was a great battle out there. It was a war of attrition," Farrell told RTÉ Sport.
Notwithstanding the difficult conditions in the opening 35 minutes, Dublin struggled to make inroads against the home defence, something Farrell said was addressed at half-time.
"We knew that we were only operating on half-cylinders... but there was plenty more in the tank," he said.
"We just told them to throw the kitchen sink at it. We had nothing to lose."
'We're not chasing results in this league it's about giving lads experience and exposure. ' - Dessie Farrell
