European wrap: Jude Bellingham sees red for Real Madrid

Real Madrid failed to build on their La Liga advantage after Jude Bellingham was sent off during a 1-1 draw at Osasuna.

Madrid looked on course for three points when Kylian Mbappe put them in front after 15 minutes, but frustration started to boil over following several unsuccessful penalty appeals.

Referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero added to the visitors' grievance when Bellingham received the second red card of his Los Blancos career in the 39th minute for dissent.

Osasuna levelled with 58 minutes played when Eduardo Camavinga caught Ante Budimir inside the penalty area and the forward fired home the spot-kick to ensure the spoils were shared.

Atletico Madrid passed up the chance to move to the top of the table after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Celta Vigo.

Elsewhere, Leganes and Alaves played out a thrilling 3-3 draw to leave the relegation-threatened sides separated by four places but only two points, while fifth-placed Villarreal drew 1-1 with struggling Valencia.

Bayern Munich maintained their eight-point advantage at the top of the Bundesliga after a 0-0 draw against title rivals Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena.

Defending champions Leverkusen, in second place, were hoping to close the gap
