Fans tell Lewis Capaldi 'we'll be here waiting' following heartbreaking announcement

Lewis Capaldi fans have told him they 'will be here waiting' and and his health becomes before his music after he announced he was taking an indefinite break from touring.

The Glaswegian singer, 26, citied his Tourette's syndrome as one of the key reasons for the decision and said he wants to focus on "getting my mental and physical health in order".

His statement also included a heartwarming apology to all his fans who had planned on attending one of his shows before the end of the year. However, he said the break would help him feel well enough to perform at "the standard you all deserve".

In a lengthy post on social media, he wrote: “First of all, thank you to Glastonbury for having me, for singing along when I needed it and for all the amazing messages afterwards. It really does mean the world.

“I know I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to take some time out when others can’t and I’d like to thank my amazing family, friends, team, medical professionals and all of you who’ve been so supportive every step of the way through good times and even more so during the past year
