Fan CATCHES Brandt Snedeker's golf ball at Valero Texas Open to leave onlookers stunned in moment of madness

A golf fan was mortified after inexplicably catching Brandt Snedeker's bouncing tee shot in the Valero Texas Open.

American Snedeker teed off on the ninth hole of his four ball match alongside teammate Chez Reavie, with the former sitting at 9 under. However, his effort fro the tee was wayward and sailed over the spectators before bouncing towards a path running parallel with the fairway. It then a fan in a light blue t-shirt and white cap ran after the ball and caught it.

That stunned fellow spectators and commentators, who said: "Oh my gosh! Oh no! He's caught the ball. Oh. No. He just caught the ball. It's all good. That's just a kid who plays a lot of baseball, he just forgot." The fan in question couldn't seem to believe what he'd done, immediately dropping the ball and putting his hand to his mouth in shock, while others failed to stifle their laughs.

Rory McIlroy finished the tournament in third position on 11 under. Akshay Bhatia and Denny McCarthy are battling it out for the victory in a playoff after finishing tied for first.
