Families slam 'ridiculous' cost of seeing Santa at Kelvin Fletcher's farm

A former Emmerdale star's 'magical' Christmas village has been slammed as 'far too dear' for ordinary families. Oldham actor Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz are welcoming visitors to Santa's Village, at their idyllic farm in Wincle, near Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Star names have already attended the Peak District attraction, including former Coronation Street actor Shayne Ward, his actress wife Sophie Austin, and rugby stars Sam Burgess and Rob Burrow. But the cost of tickets has come under fire from other families who say they won't be able to join the fun, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.

According to the website, entry for children aged up to 12 months costs £18 to £20, £48 to £54 for children aged one to 15 years, and £24 to £28 for adults and teenagers aged 16 or more. Entry costs vary depending on which date you choose to visit in December.

The experience includes making reindeer food to leave out on Christmas Eve, meeting the farm animals and playing in mini-Land Rovers and giant snow globes. Youngsters will also get to meet Father Christmas and secure their place on the nice list.

Stoke-on-Trent Live readers took to social media to share their views on the 'ridiculous' pricing. Some went as far as to say that it's only for 'upper-class Tories' and celebrities.

Anita Davies said: "It’s far too dear for families, needs to be half the price." Kim Edgerton added: "I love the programme but must agree that three adults and two children was too expensive for us too. Such a shame. I do hope it's a success though."
