A Stockport doctor who has been stranded in Mexico for 50 HOURS thanks to an aircraft fault has been forced to cancel 30 patient appointments. Dr Sonya Dhand, 32, and her partner Joe Corney, 35, jetted out to Cancun to enjoy a one-week holiday earlier this month.

The couple, who live in Cheadle, were due to fly back to Manchester on Saturday (March 9) at 4.30pm. But shortly after boarding their plane, they were made aware of a technical fault that staff were trying to resolve.

The passengers hope they can finally fly back to Manchester on a new aircraft at 6.20pm today Cancun time – bringing the total delay to a whopping 50 hours.
