Falkirk sign Hibs ace Dylan Tait after spell at title rivals Hamilton Accies

Falkirk have announced the signing of Dylan Tait on loan from Hibs, following his exit from League One title rivals Hamilton Accies.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Accies but his season-long deal was terminanted last week.

Now he has signed for the Bairns on a deal until the end of the season, hoping to deny Accies the League One crown.

It comes after Accies put in a cheeky bid to sign a trio of Falkirk stars last week. The New Douglas Park outfit want to sign Callumn Morrison, Calvin Miller and Alfredo Agyeman on permanant deals, but their approach was rebuffed by Falkirk.

Falkirk boss John McGlynn, whose side sit nine points clear of Accies having played a game more, said: “We’re delighted to sign Dylan, he’s a player I’ve known for a good few years now, he came through the Fife Elite Academy and played for the Reserves at Raith Rovers when Paul and I were there.

“He continued to progress and got better and better, getting himself into the first team at a very young age and in doing so gaining a lot of experience. He then managed to get himself a permanent move to Hibs, and soon after got a loan move to Kilmarnock. Unfortunately, he picked up a knee injury that curtailed his time there, but he has had other loan deals at Arbroath and more recently at Hamilton.

“We got Dylan playing really well a few years back, and we feel that he is a player that can really make a difference. We’re delighted to get him to the club, he will help us in the central midfield area of the pitch, where we feel we have needed a different type of player.
