Fabrizio Romano drops huge Leeds United update that will leave supporters devastated - opinion

Fabrizio Romano has dropped a worrying update concerning the future of Leeds United winger Raphinha.

In a recent post on Twitter, the transfer insider revealed that, following a long-held interest, Barcelona have now initiated talks with Deco, the winger’s agent, regarding a move for the 25-year-old at the end of the season.

Romano went on to state that both Liverpool and Chelsea are also interested in a swoop for the Brazil international in the summer transfer window, however, none of the three interested parties are believed to have made contact with Leeds – as the price of the forward depends on the club’s Premier League status and potential buy out clauses.

Indeed, over his 30 Premier League appearances in 2020/21, the £36m-rated forward was in electric form for Leeds, scoring six goals, registering nine assists and creating 12 big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 2.2 shots and making 2.1 key passes per game.

These returns saw the 25-year-old earn a highly impressive seasonal SofaScore match rating of 7.14, ranking him as the Whites’ third-best performer in the top flight of English football last time out.
