Fabrizio Romano drops big transfer update on £34.4m Liverpool target, FSG must act now - opinion

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Arnaut Danjuma, and now a new update has emerged on the player’s future from a reliable source.

Italian journalist and transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Danjuma’s future.

Romano tweeted: “Danjuma’s camp remain ‘relaxed’ as player would be happy to continue at Villarreal next year if no agreement will be found.”

“West Ham were ready to pay €40m, but far away on personal terms.”

If Liverpool’s interest in the player was genuine, then FSG must act as soon as possible to make sure they can secure the deal before he makes a move elsewhere this summer.

Danjuma has even spoken out on the reported interest from Liverpool telling Ziggo Sport;

“I was informed that Liverpool were following me closely.

“I have never had contacts with clubs or anything like that during the season – I always know about the situation after the season. If a club came along that offered me a higher platform to play on sport-wise, I would always have to consider it.”

It was reported that Liverpool wouldn’t make any more signings this summer, but further reports surrounding doubt around Mohamed Salah’s future and FSG toying with the idea of selling the player to ensure they don’t lose him for free next summer, it could be a chance for the club to get ahead with finding their replacement.
