Fabio Paratici could soon look to re-sign former Spurs favourite Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur could look to seal Christian Eriksen’s return to north London if the Dane impresses for Premier League rivals Brentford, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 group stage clash with Finland, leading to fears he would never play professionally again, but he is now back in the English top flight less than a year on from those horrific scenes.

Having been released by Inter Milan due to Serie A prohibiting the use of an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator device, Eriksen had been maintaining his fitness by training with former club Odense Boldklub.

But the 30-year-old is back in the Premier League after joining Brentford on a six-month deal hours before last month’s transfer deadline.

Eriksen is closing in on making a sensational return to competitive action after featuring for the Bees in a behind-closed-doors friendly against non-league Southend United yesterday.

Despite still waiting for a first Brentford appearance, Spurs head coach Antonio Conte has already hinted a return to his former employers could be on the cards in the summer.

It comes after Conte and Eriksen, who won the Serie A title together at Inter last season, coincidentally ran into each other at a London hotel recently.

Jones has refused to rule out the possibility of Eriksen heading to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season.
