Paratici could now transfer list ‘monster' Tottenham player who ‘never’ lets Conte down - report

According to a report by Corriere della Sera, via Sport Witness, an exit update has now come out of Tottenham Hotspur involving midfield mainstay Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

January alone saw the outgoings of many big name Spurs players as manager Antonio Conte and transfer chief Fabio Paratici attempt to clear deadwood and build the club in their own image.

Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso all departed either on loan or permanently last month while the likes of Bryan Gil were also sent away to get much-needed experience (Transfermarkt).

Now, it appears Paratici and co may not be done there as news emerges on Hojbjerg.

According to CDS, via Sport Witness, the Tottenham regular could now ‘end up on the market’ as Roma and ex-Spurs boss Jose Mourinho take interest.

Mourinho, according to this report, ‘values’ Hojbjerg from their time together at Spurs as his new team now eye a move.

If Paratici does transfer list the Denmark international, it would be rather hasty considering his impeccable form last season and the fact Conte has used him regularly.

Spurs insider John Wenham believes the reaction surrounding a poor run of form has been overblown, citing the fact Hojbjerg has ‘never’ let the Lilywhites or Conte down in terms of league appearances – missing just one match in two years due to COVID (Football Insider).

Meanwhile, for his country, Hojbjerg has received nothing but praise – with one-time Denmark and Derby County midfielder Morten Bisgaard calling him a ‘monster’ (The Athletic).

It remains to be seen whether he does end up on the market, but whether or not that would be the right call is up for debate.
