Liverpool's protracted acquisition of Fulham teenager Fabio Carvalho has moved a step closer with terms understood to have been agreed.

According to Football Insider, the 19-year-old will sign a five-year deal that will see his current wages quadrupled. Carvalho is free to join the Reds at the end of the season, when his existing contract a Craven Cottage expires. Liverpool will need to compensate the West London club and it is understood that a £5million fee has been agreed, with potential add-ons of up to £2.7million.

Jurgen Klopp's side came close to signing the attacking midfielder on transfer deadline day back in January, for a reported fee of £8.4million, but the transfer could not be completed in time.

Carvalho has made 31 appearances for Fulham this season, scoring eight goals, and has helped Marco Silva's side sit comfortably at the top of the Championship.
