FA Vase round-up: Hythe Town, Faversham Strike Force, Larkfield & New Hythe, Snodland Town and Phoenix Sports enjoy first-round wins, penalty shoot-out victories for Rusthall and Tunbridge Wells

Seven Southern Counties East sides progressed to the second round of the FA Vase on Saturday.

Division 1 Hythe Town came from two goals down to defeat Worthing United 5-2 at Cheriton Road.

Danny Kingston scored both goals for Worthing, including a penalty, before Jake Embery pulled one back for Hythe from the penalty spot.

Harry Linch made it 2-2 early in the second half and quickly added his second before Harry Codd made it 4-2 just past the hour mark. Josh Byford wrapped up the win for Hythe, who finished with 10 men after a red card for Jarred Trespaderne.

Josh Oliver scored twice for Faversham Stike Force as they won 3-2 at Jarvis Brook. The Force led 3-0 early in the second half with Alfie Giles also on target before the hosts hit back to set up a nervy finale.

Larkfield & New Hythe beat fellow Premier Division side Chislehurst Glebe 4-0.

Andrew Mensah scored twice in 10 minutes before half-time to put the Larks in charge. Lauris chin and George Monger then netted twice in three second-half minutes to complete their win.

Phoenix Sports proved too strong for Penn & Tylers Green, running out 4-2 winners.

Jamarie Brissett opened the scoring for Phoenix and Ricardo Thompson doubled the visitors’ lead in first-half stoppage time.

Jeffrey Fordjour pulled one back for the hosts but Rarnez Hafzalla and Sebastian Levenson scored in the space of three minutes to put Phoenix 4-1 ahead, with Lennon Moore claiming a late consolation.

Sekou Traore scored the only goal of the game after just 12 minutes as Snodland Town won at home to Spartans Youth.

Rusthall progressed 8-7 on penalties after a 3-3 draw at Fleet Town in 90 minutes.
