FA Cup third round draw live as Manchester United and Man City to discover opponents

Manchester United and Manchester City will discover their FA Cup third opponents this afternoon when the draw takes place.

Last year’s finalists will be among the Premier League and Championship clubs entering at this stage along with the 20 survivors from round two. City are the holders after winning the first all-Manchester FA Cup final 2-1 at Wembley last season on their way to an historic treble.

United and City could once again be paired against each other this afternoon with the 64 sides in an open draw. Both will be hoping for home advantage and an extended run in the competition this season.

The draw takes place as part of the build-up to the second round tie between non-league Eastleigh and League One side Reading. That match kicks off at 1.30pm with the draw getting underway shortly after 1pm.

The ball numbers have been confirmed with the third round ties taking place over the first weekend of January. We’ll bring you all the action as it happens so stay with us.

The draw for the third round of the FA Cup is scheduled to take place shortly before 1pm this lunchtime, with a start time penciled in for 12.55pm.

It will be broadcast live on ITV1 ahead of non-league club Eastleigh's second round tie against League One outfit Reading. All 20 Premier League and 24 Championship clubs will join the remaining Legaue One, League Two and non-league sides in the hat.
