FA Cup extra preliminary round weekend review as Whitstable Town, Faversham Town, Erith Town, Deal Town, Erith & Belvedere and Bearsted all victorious

It took Whitstable Town's 45-year-old striker Derek Asamoah virtually no time to open his competitive club account as manager Lee Martin made a winning FA Cup extra preliminary round start on Saturday.

Asamoah, a one-time Ghana international, broke the deadlock after only 70 seconds before attackers Jack Nelson and Kenny Aileru also struck in either half in a 3-1 victory for the Isthmian South East Oystermen.

Rivals Faversham Town - who welcomed the FA Cup itself to their ground - saw off Corinthian-Casuals 4-2 at Salters Lane.

Deal Town downed Southern Counties East League Premier Division Sutton Athletic as it finished 2-1 at the Charles Sports Ground.

Bearsted beat Ashford Town (Middlesex) 2-1 on the road through Nathan Light’s effort and an own goal.

A day later, Erith & Belvedere were 4-1 home victors against Billingshurst.
