F1: Sebastian Vettel's greatest wins to date

We take a look back at the four-time world champion’s top 10 victories as he retires from his Formula 1 career.

Right before the Hungarian Grand Prix, Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel made the announcement that he will leave Formula 1 at the end of the current campaign in order to spend more time with his family.

It will mark an end to an illustrious career that has seen him earn 53 grand prix victories so far, placing him third all-time behind only Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.

Despite not adding to his total of four world titles gained with Red Bull while driving for Ferrari, the German has been one of F1’s top drivers over a lengthy and illustrious career that began in 2007.

Despite winning all of his Drivers’ championships with Red Bull Racing, he also proved popular during his time at Ferrari and with Aston.

10. 2008 Italian GP

Vettel naturally improved as a driver after 2008 as experience grew, however this race is elevated in our ranking due to the circumstances surrounding the victory, namely Vettel’s inexperience, the underpowered vehicle, and the challenging weather.

Even though the 2008 season was undoubtedly one of Toro Rosso’s best, the old Minardi squad was more of a points scorer than a podium contender.

9. 2010 Abu Dhabi GP

Vettel was only fourth in the drivers’ standings, 25 points behind Fernando Alonso, with only two races (and 50 points) remaining in the 2010 season. Despite moving up to third after winning in Brazil, Vettel was still 15 points behind Alonso and seven behind teammate Mark Webber of Red Bull.
