F1 Esports: Frede Rasmussen seals round 3 victory
Frede Rasmussen chalked up his first victory of the 2022 Formula 1 Esports championship on Friday night during round three of the campaign, held at Silverstone.
The Red Bull driver is the most successful in the championship, in terms of race wins, with him making it an 11th victory on Friday evening at the home of British motorsport.
He started the race from pole position and would convert that into victory, leading home the impressive Thomas Ronhaar who has taken to his debut campaign like a duck to water and Lucas Blakeley, who has become the early favourite for the title after winning the opening two rounds on Wednesday and Thursday.
The F1 Esports championship plays out over 12 rounds and those are split into four events, which see three straight nights of action.
Indeed, the first event consisting of the opening three rounds has already given us an idea of who might be in contention for the championship and who has work to do, with the race for the title currently very much in Blakeley’s hands after a superb start to the campaign.
Though it’s early doors, and a lot can happen, Blakeley has built a very strong lead in the opening rounds with him winning at both Bahrain and Imola before consolidating with a podium on Friday night at Silverstone.
